I first learned and fell in love with this dance in college. Pure Texan genius.

I went to New Orleans with Champ and Walter once.They came through Houston and stopped by Corkys to say hey.I had a few days off so I decided to go with them This was 1982 so there were no cell phones. We arrived on Monday night before fat Tuesday 🎉. We were staying with some friends of Walt and Champ.We all went to Tipatinas and ran into some other musicians from Austin with some LSD and as usual I did too much. I remember the parade starting but we got separated and I ended up flying back to Houston. It is still a favorite memory because I loved them dearly. I think about ya'll often Thanks for the ride no pun intended.
